The Indian city of dreams, other than being the capital of the western Indian state of Maharashtra is also the financial and entertainment capital of the country. Mumbai has two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and the Elephanta Caves, and boasts of the architecture that is a blend of Gothic Revival, Indo-Saracenic, Art Deco, and other contemporary styles.

Being in Mumbai one cannot help indulging in the vast variety of food available. From the posh five stars to the not so fancy street food, everything has its own charm and its own price tag. Street food is an attractive feature which includes Bhel Puri (a perfect mixture of puffed rice, potatoes, onions, chili powder, tamarind water, coriander, deep fried vermicelli and crispy Puri pieces), Pao Bhaji (mixed vegetables mashed, cooked and served with a portion of bread) and Kanji Vadas (doughnuts soaked in mustard and chili sauce) and constitutes an all time favorite amongst the locals.

Shopping in Mumbai can be classified into street shopping and designer wear. While plenty of options exists depending on where you are, here are some major places ( area) to shop at.
Chor Bazaar (thieves’ bazaar)- Here you find a wide collection of antiques, jewellery, wooden articles, leatherwear and other general stuff. Bargaining can result you in cheap buy of the chosen product
Colaba and Flora Fountain are full of ethnic artifacts and shopping of all kind.
The famous Fashion Street is the ideal place for an amazing range of clothes wear- as the name suggests street fashion.
Bandra, “THE” place one wants to be, as it is the residential area of most of the Indian film stars, has exquisite showrooms lined up on both its sides along with a contrasting feature of pavement selling.
