The state of Kerala which is synonymous with ‘Greenry,Backwaters ,Ayurveda and Beaches’ just cannot resist the charms bestowed upon this town of Varkala, a former temple town by the Arabian Sea with white sandy beaches and breathtaking sunset. The resultant ‘Varkala’ today is a much more renowned as a converted beach resort town than its previous image of a small temple town.
Due to the meteoric rise of Varkala as a tourist destination, massive developments are taking place to convert this town in a popular tourist spot. All this been said Varkala is still the hippest tourist spot in Kerala, located at about 40 Kms north of the Thiruvanantapuram, the town is nestled on top of a cliff looking down on the sea. This young and spirited town boasts of clean beach that is still not attracted a huge tourist interest, unlike Kovalam and thus is able to maintain an ambience, expected of a perfect tourist spot.
