By Train:
Varanasi is very well connected by train. The station is Varanasi Junction (or
also called Varanasi Cantonment).
Varanasi station is notorious for people losing their luggage, so keep an extra vigil on your belongings. With direct train to Delhi, Calcutta, Chennai, Mumbai, Jaipur and Jodhpur, Varanasi forms a great place to head on your travels via train. You can view the updated train information on our “India Travel by Train Chart”.
By Bus:
Varanasi bus – station is right by the train station. The bus service in the state of Uttar Pradesh is rather poor. However there are frequent buses to other towns in the state. For Khajuraho, the best way is to take a train to Satna and from there a 4- hour bus ride to get to your destination.
GETTING AROUND THE CITY
Driving around in the city is a nightmare. You are best on foot, or Rickshaws or Auto-Rickshaws in this town. For journeys from Bus-station or airports always go through the Pre-paid services at the stations or airports. Within the city you will have to haggle with auto-rickshaws till you get a fair idea of price.
