The different craft forms available in Puri can be well used as gifts or mementos.
Clothes especially made out of a special kind of work called Chandua is quite an attraction.
There are Pipli workshops present from where small items can be bought. Pipli is something from where one directly buys products from the craftsmen. |

Silver Filigree work, also called locally Tarakashi, is a very intricate art. The artists use an alloy of silver, called sterling silver or pure silver. This art, used on most of the items, is more popularly found in Cuttack.
Wooden sculptures of deities, animals are extremely popular and are very
aesthetically carved.
Weaving work is very much in demand here. This industry creates ikat fabric which undoubtedly is one of the best fabrics in the world. “Tie and Dye” technique is also quite common here.
Everywhere else in India, Cuttack sarees, silk sarees and fine cotton is very much in demand which, of course, is produced in Orissa.
Metallic work ( Dhokra work), Stone carving and paintings have a niche market of their own and have made a very prominent mark for themselves by exhibiting promising work.
