7) Bada Danda
To take a break from the highly religion encompassed Puri one can go to Bada Danda for some exquisite and extensive shopping.
8) Markandesvara Tank
It is large deep tank and is said to be a place where Lord Vishnu (Hindu God) is said to have resided in form of a Neem tree while his temple was buried deep under a sand-
dune. Though this Neem tree is not seen now, a spectacular view of the nearby temples, which contain the images of the Jagannath trio, can be expected.
9) Satyabadi( Sakshigopal)
This shrine of Lord Sakshigopal is nearly 20 kms away from Puri and the sacred feet of Shri Radha can only be seen on ‘Anala Nawami’ day.
10) Sudarshan Workshop
It is a traditional stone carver’s yard where there is an extensive use of Khondalite to carve the religious icons. Khondalite is a multi coloured stone used in the Sun Temple in Konark.
