Krishna’s birthday. An interesting feature is the human pyramids that the young boys make in order to reach and break terracotta pots filled with curd and hung high from the houses balconies. Takes place in July/August.
3. Nowroz
The Parsi new year is celebrated with special ceremonies. Takes place in July/August
4. Nariel Purnima
To mark the end of Monsoons Koli fishermen launch their brightly decorated boats. Takes place in September.
5. Ganesh Chathurthi
Effigies of Lord Ganesh are submerged in Chowpatty Beach as a ritual. Takes place in August/September.
