Manali is perhaps the main tourist center of the state of Himachal Pardesh. Thronged by the likes of honeymooners, hippies, trekkers and local tourists, Manali has emerged as one of the main hill stations (term coined for places in hills that people tend to go to during summer in India).

visit Manali. The local tourist come here to escape the summer heat or even to see mountains clad with snow, to experience that moment that they might not have ever seen experienced in a tropical surroundings.
The hippies and backpackers are there for their own reasons of peace and quiet and some for the quality charas. Then there are the trekking and nature enthusiasts who use Manali as a base for some short hikes and serious expeditions around the region.
Manali’s main street, the Mall, is the busiest street with most of the bustling activity happening around it. The street is surrounded by restaurants, cafes, the taxi stand and tourist information centers. However amidst all this, basically one can really enjoy the serene and pleasant environments and a much laid back atmosphere.
