Fort Kochi:
The historic Portuguese influenced island off Kochi offers an interesting tour to all the tourists. With its Jewish synagogue, market, antique shops and a beautiful sunset, this little island today boasts of a cosmopolitan set-up and hosts thirteen different communities.

Other places to see here are: Santa Cruz Basilica, Voc Gate and Bastion Bungalow. The restaurants serving fresh seafood are another attraction for everyone.
Dutch Palace or Mattancherry palace:
Although this oriental style palace was built by the Portuguese in 1555 but only improved by the Dutch in form of expansions and repairs in 1663, the palace ever since has come to be known as Dutch Palace.
The Portuguese had presented this palace to the king of Cochin, Veera Kerala Verma in1555. The palace is one of the oldest buildings in Kerala with 17th murals, Hindu temples and a little exhibit of dresses, weapons and palanquins from the bygone era.
The palace is open all days of the week except Fridays and national holidays. It is open from 10 am to 5 pm.
Bolghatty Palace:
Located on a little island of the same name, off Kochi, Bolghatty’s Palace was built by the Dutch in 1744. Today the palace is extensively renovated and serves as a luxury hotel of Kerala Tourism Development Corporation.
Vypeen and Gundu Island:
Vypeen Island is a little ferry ride away from Fort Kochi. The place is known for its picturesque lighthouse, beaches and an early 16th century Pallipuram Fort. Gundu, the smallest island is the property of Taj group.
