Fairs and Festivals : |
Cochin has various festivals throughout the year.
Attachmayam:
This festival is held during the month of August/September at the historical town of Tripunithura, by Kochi.
Cochin Carnival:
The Portuguese tradition of Carnival takes place in Fort Kochi during the last week of December to celebrate New Year. |

Indira Gandhi Boat Race:
The Grand Boat Race which attracts so many people to view from all over the places takes place in the last week of December. The event takes place as a finale to the Tourism Fair.
Jewish Festival:
The Jewish community which is believed to have settled here since 1st century since the destruction of second temple of Jerusalem holds its festival to commemorate the liberation of Jews from Egyptian slavery. The festival takes place during the month of April/May.
Malayatoor Perunal:
The Malayatoor Hill, located about 50 Kms from Kochi, experiences its own feast at its renowned Catholic church on the Sunday after Easter. The event takes place in the month of Month of March/April.
