Jhansi is the closest train station, while coming from North. Satna, on the other hand is more suitable to board trains heading South of Khajuraho or coming from that side.
For train to Mumbai or Varanasi you will have to go to Satna. To get to Khajuraho
from Delhi, the Bhopal Shatabdi is the best way to get upto Jhansi and then get a bus from there to Khajuraho (and do not forget to take a stopover at Orchha).
