Just 25 Kms outside Khajuraho, this forest area has some beautiful falls cutting through the rocky terrain.
Panna National Park
Located about 35 Kms from Khajuraho, on way to Satna. This national park was declared a Tiger Reserve in 1994. Although tiger spotting is hard to come by with limited Tiger population of the Park, however, other
wildlife like deer, langur, sambar, etc can be seen here. The Park is closed during the rainy seasons, from June to October. Summers are terrible to visit.
Accommodations are available near the park. Plan a trip in advance to combine
with travel to other cities.
Ajaigarh & Kalinjar Forts
The forts at Ajaigarh at 80 Kms from Khajuraho and the one at Kalinjar at about 105 Kms are closely associated with the history of Chandela dynasty.
