Mosquito bites not only leave itching marks (that go away in few days) but can also cause a common ailment known as Malaria. First-sign of malaria are generally like flu, which includes shivering, burning fever and aches. Even though it is not infectious, it is advisable to see a doctor, get a blood test and take proper medicine.
However, perhaps the best way to avoid Malaria is prevention. Always use Mosquito repellent creams or spray when outdoors or even indoors during summer and warm weather or during monsoons.
One Indian mosquito repellent cream that is very effective is Odomos. You can get it at most pharmacies and general stores. Buy the new blue colored tube which has a lighter smell and not as pungent as the original green tube.
Make sure you don’t leave any uncovered body part without the repellent. Mosquitoes seem to have knack for finding weird places to bite.
