Shatabdi Express, which runs in the morning and later in the evening presents the easiest comfortable option to get to Chandigarh from Delhi. By Bus :
Chandigarh is connected to most of the towns north of Delhi. The bus service is quick and frequent. From Delhi to Chandigarh the bus ride will take you approximately 5 hours.Dharamshala is a 6 hrs bus ride away whereas for
Shimla you will need about 3.5 hours and for Mandi in Himachal Pradesh about 12 hours.
Private Taxis/Cars
To hire a private Taxi or driving by car is always an option. The road from Delhi to Chandigarh is largely great other than a bad stretch from Ambala to Chandigarh. Taxis are a much more expensive option than Trains. A distance of 250 kms at roughly 60 km/ hr, you can do the Maths.
Getting Around the City: Getting around this city is really easy and comfortable. With minimal traffic which is far more organized than anywhere else in the country there are plenty of options for commuting. Local buses are limited, so can be ruled out.Try driving on your own, a bicycle. Cycle rickshaw, Auto Rickshaw, Taxi, whatever works for you.
