Pinjore
The ‘Yadavindra Gardens’ or more popularly known as "Pinjore Garden" is situated about 20 Kms outside Chandigarh. The gardens were designed  by Fidai Khan,  who was a Mughal ruler Aurangzeb's foster  brother. Fidai Khan had also designed the Badshahi Mosque in Lahore, Pakistan. as a palace used by the emperor during summer for a holiday.  The building has Mughal and Rajasthani influence.  Not very far is “ Timber Trail Resort” that also has a cable car that takes you upto an adjacent hill  on the Shivalik range.

Kasauli
An hour and a half  drive from Chandigarh, past Pinjore, takes you to the favorite ‘hill station’ of Chandigarh, ‘Kasauli’. Its cooler serene environment is the inviting factor for most Chandigarhians during summer. The drive up to the place is pleasant with the availability of some good roadside Dhabas and beer.
