1 ) The Secretariat and the Vidhan Sabha( Legislative Assembly)
The modern building hosts the general administration of the city. Just close to the place is a huge open hand sculpture which is the logo for the city, a symbol of unity. Just nearby is also the colorful High Court.
2 ) Rock Garden

creator’s fantasy, made out of waste materials. Nek Chand, the creator of Rock Garden has brought the place to life with thousands of structures made out of broken everyday used pieces like bulbs. Tubes, sockets, bangles and other waste. His solo effort in bringing his art to the fore has been rewarded with both national and international acclaim.
3 ) The Sukhna Lake This man made lake located about 100 meters from the Rock Garden is a local site thronged with visitors in the evening. You can engage in a boat ride, kayaking (no streams) or just a jog by the lake. Some local fisherman also indulge in fishing around the banks of the lake.
In a nutshell, clean fresh air, picturesque setting, refreshments and health, all in one place.
4 ) The Chandigarh Golf Course and the Driving Range Just adjacent to the lake, lays the popular Golf Club. Being the oldest in the city with growing number of courses, the Chandigarh Golf Club still boasts of a serene atmosphere, lush green fairways and a beautiful club house with both indoor and outdoor seating. A must go for a golfer. The Driving Range is also nearby. Just get down the steps of Sukhna lake and you are at the gate of newly built Driving Range, with a nice putting ground and a facility for 9 hole chipping ground ( at specific times) and a beautifully laid Driving Range .
5 ) Rose Garden
The ‘Rose Garden’ as the name suggests is a sprawling garden with over thousand varieties of Roses. Situated in Sector 16 of Chandigarh, it’s considered to be one of the largest of its kind in Asia. Early and evening crowd consists of fitness enthusiasts strolling around, breathing fresh air. The entry is free and it’s
only open till it gets dark in the evening.
6 ) Museum and Art Gallery
The state run Museum and Art Gallery is situated in sector–10 of Chandigarh. It boasts of some modest collection of Indian Stone sculptures and paintings. Adjacent to the museums are also the sections containing sections on Chandigarh town planning and Architecture, and another that covers the evolution of life on earth and displays fossils and some prehistoric implements found in India.
It’s open from 10 am to 4.30 pm from Tuesday to Sunday.
Right across, out side the museum is an old tank that was brought to Chandigarh after it was discarded by Pakistanis during the Indo-Pak war of 1971.
7 ) Panjab University
One of the leading Universities in India, Panjab University, situated in sector -14 has one of the finest modern architecture for an institution of learning in the country.
