A week long adventure through the Tundra desert region of the northern state of Jammu and Kashmir. This trip is best done only during the months of June till September. This high altitude trip will allow you to experience the breathtaking scenery of some of the remotest areas in the country with some of the highest mountain passes in the world. You will go over the world’s highest motor-able roads, camp at one of the highest salt water lakes, see the double-humped camels, visit some of the remotest Buddhist monasteries, live in small villages and experience a part of the world that is unlike anything else. This is a highly recommended trip for all those who travel to India during summer months.
Day 01 : : Arrive at Leh
Arrival at Leh airport. Pick up from airport and Drop at Hotel. Day at leisure, Overnight stay at Hotel in Leh.
Day 02 : : Leh and Around
Leh Sightseeing. Thiksey Monastery, Shanti stupa, Leh Palace and Leh market. Overnight stay at Hotel in Leh
Day 03 : : Leh to Lamayuru to Alchi
After breakfast drive to Lamayuru enroute visit Liker Monastery ( oldest monastery in Ladakh ). On way back to Leh also visit Alchi monastery, Basgo Palace and Hall of Fame. Transfer from Alchi to Leh (70 Kms). Arrive at Leh by afternoon. (Oldest Monastery in Ladakh).
Day 04 : : Leh to Nubra Valley
Transfer from Leh to Nubra Valley (120 Kms) After Breakfast drive to Nubra Valley via Khardungla (Highest Motorable road in the World, 18,380 ft). Arrive at Deskit by Afternoon. Rest of the day one is free to explore Deskit, Hunder Villages and camel Safari in Sand Dunes between Deskit and Hunder Village. Overnight stay at Guest House in Nubra.
Day 05 : : Nubra Valley to Leh
Transfer from Nubra Valley to Leh (120 Kms) After Breakfast visit Deskit Monastery and drive back to Leh by same Route, crossing Khardungla Pass. Overnight stay at Hotel in Leh
Day 06 : : Leh to Pangong
Transfer from Leh to Pangong Lake (160 Kms) After Breakfast leave for Pangong Lake 14,500 ft, through Changla Pass 17,350 ft. (third Highest Motorable road in the world.). Overnight stay at Guest House.
Day 07 : : Pangong Lake to Leh
Transfer from Pangong Lake to Leh (160 Kms) After Breakfast drive back to Leh, enroute visit Hemis and Shey Palace. Overnight stay at Hotel in Leh.
Day 08 : : Leh to Delhi
Morning drop to airport to fly from Leh to Delhi.
