Ladakh is part of the state of Jammu and Kashmir, comprising of the two districts of Leh and Kargil. Leh is the largest district in India in terms of areas and comprises of the town ‘Leh’ (which is the hub of all tourism in this area) and the various villages around it. The district of Kargil on the other hand lies closer to line of control with Zanskar, Suru, Wakha and Dras valleys being part of it.

Major places of interest for tourists who are looking for a land tour are: Leh town and around (for various monasteries and local palaces), Nubra Valley (including Khardungla Pass- the world’s highest motorable road), Pangong Lake, Alchi, Basgo and Lamayuru. Additionally with time permitting Lake Tsomoriri and Kargil can be other tourist destinations.
